CMSgt Joseph Hamlett

Chief Master Sergeant Hamlett serves as the State Command Chief for the Missouri Air National Guard. In this role, he is the senior enlisted advisor to the Missouri Adjutant General on matters affecting the readiness, training and professional development of all enlisted members of the Missouri Air National Guard. Additionally, he serves on advisory councils and promotion boards, works closely with the Missouri Army National Guard and civilian communities served by the Missouri National Guard Military Forces. Chief Hamlett serves as principal advisor to the Chiefs and First Sergeants Councils and performs other duties as outlined/directed by the Missouri Adjutant General.

Chief Hamlett joined the Marine Corps Reserves in November 1981. Throughout his years of combined military service which include the active duty Air Force and the Air National Guard, he has worked as a Combat Engineer, Water Supply Operator, Jet Engine Mechanic, Turboprop Specialist, Quality Assurance Inspector, Group and Wing First Sergeant. His assignments include support of Operations CORONET OAK, JOINT FORGE, and ENDURING FREEDOM.

As a civil service special project manager, Chief Hamlett established relationships with the St. Joseph, Missouri, Chamber of Commerce and local companies. He has also worked with the Department of Labor to establish an apprenticeship program for all enlisted Air Force Specialty Codes at the 139 Airlift Wing. In his civilian capacity, Chief Hamlett is an affiliate faculty member, author and small business owner. Prior to his current position, he served as the 139th Medical Group/Detachment 1 Group Superintendent
