Brig. Gen. Robert J. (Bob) Payne has served in various assignments over his twenty-six year career.

Brig. Gen. Schreffler received his commission through ROTC in 1991 upon graduating from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. Initially branched into the Chemical Corps, he attended the Chemical Officer Basic Course at Ft. McClellan, AL and served as the Battalion Chemical Officer for the 2-135th AVN BN, COARNG. He received a branch transfer to Aviation after completing flight training at Ft. Rucker, AL in 1995. In 1996 he joined the MOARNG as a member of the 1-135th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion.
