Command Sgt. Maj. Larry D. Godsey

Command Sergeant Major Larry Godsey enlisted as a Cannon Crewmember (13B) in the Missouri Army National Guard in 1988. He was a member of C Battery, 1-128th FA, until 2005. He held the key positions of Assistant Gunner, Gunner, Section Chief, and Platoon Sergeant during that time.

In 2003, C Battery, 1-128th FA was activated, reclassified as a provisional Military Police company, and deployed to Fort Bragg, NC to conduct the Law and Order Mission. CSM Godsey completed the 31B reclassification course and Phase II of the Advanced NCO Course at Fort Leonard Wood, MO prior to this deployment. During this deployment CSM Godsey served as the company OPS NCO.

CSM Godsey was selected as the First Sergeant for the HHC, 110th MEB in August 2007. In 2008, CSM Godsey was deployed to Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan with the 935th Agriculture Development Team (ADT). This was the first ADT deployed by the Army and developed the framework and mission concept for follow-on ADT units from other states.

CSM Godsey was selected as the Senior NCO for the 135th Special Troops Battalion in 2010 and in 2011 was selected as the CSM for the 1-138th Infantry Regiment. In 2017, the 1-138th Infantry Regiment was deployed to Qatar and performed security missions for Area Support Group-Qatar and Army Central Command (ARCENT).

CSM Godsey served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 140th Regiment, Regional Training Institute, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2018 and as the Command Sergeant Major for the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade from 2018 to 2022. During his time with the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, he deployed with the brigade to the Southwest Border.

CSM Godsey has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (3x), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and numerous other service and deployment awards and decorations.

CSM Godsey holds a PhD in Forestry and an MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri.
