Col. Gordon R. Meyer

Col Gordon R. Meyer serves as the Director of Staff for the Missouri Air National Guard (MOANG), Jefferson City, Missouri. Colonel Meyer is the senior fulltime Air advisor to the Adjutant General and works on behalf of the Assistant Adjutant General Air and the MOANG Chief of Staff to coordinate and communicate with the 139th Airlift Wing and 131st Bomb Wing. Additional responsibilities include Missouri National Guard Air Staff oversight and planning for utilization of MOANG resources for Domestic Operations.

Col Meyer joined the Kansas Air National Guard in 1983 and received his commission with the MOANG in 1995. He initiated the development and execution of the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center Night Vision Goggle Ground Operations Course in direct support to war time requirements for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He has deployed in support of Operations CORONET OAK, SOUTHERN WATCH, and ENDURING FREEDOM.  Prior to his current position, Colonel Meyer was the 139th Mission Support Group Commander. In this role, he participated in the initial planning and established ground support requirements for both the C-130H Weapons Instructor Course and the first Air National Guard Open Skies Treaty location.
